Albert Riera

Albert Riera arrived at Christchurch United with a reputation built on over a decade of success at the highest levels of New Zealand football. Originally from Spain, he became one of the A-League's most respected midfielders during his time with the Wellington Phoenix, where he earned the club’s Player of the Year award and an A-League All-Stars selection to face Juventus.

Following his professional playing career, he moved into management with Auckland City FC, where he oversaw a period of sustained dominance that included multiple National League premierships and consecutive OFC Champions League titles.

Now at Christchurch United, he is focused on establishing a professional performance culture and high-level tactical identity for the senior squad.
Adria Casals
ASSISTANT COach
Adria Casals joined Christchurch United with a specialized background in sports science developed across Europe and New Zealand. After starting his career in Spain with CF Reus Deportiu, he spent several seasons as the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for Gimnàstic de Tarragona in Spain’s professional leagues. Most recently, he served as the Head of Performance for Auckland City FC, where he played a key role in the club’s domestic success and their campaigns in the OFC Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Now at Christchurch United, he is responsible for overseeing the physical preparation of the players, ensuring they meet the athletic demands of the professional game.
