Better Post-game Analysis with Spiideo
Post-game analysis is a crucial part of Christchurch United’s training program for all age groups. To make these analyses as efficient and accessible as possible, we employ the Spiideo sports analysis program: a highly acclaimed system that allows our players and coaches to look at their performances across all games and trainings that take part at Christchurch United’s pitches.
As a part of their individual development plan, our players are encouraged to use Spiideo to send clips of themselves back and forth to their coaches, which gives them a better understanding of their own game and how to best improve on their skills.
Spiideo is not the only technological advantage that Christchurch United can offer our academy players. Every coach at the club has been trained in courses developed by the prestigious TOVO Academy Barcelona, whose founder, Todd Beane, spent over a decade working directly with football legend Johan Cruyff.
These courses are some of the greatest in the world when it comes to developing youth in football, and Christchurch United takes great pride in our connection with TOVO. In addition, our partnership with Double Pass gives our players access to one of the most successful football talent development programs in world football, allowing them to maximise their full potential and grow in an environment where our players are constantly improving alongside both their teammates and coaches.
These technological examples give our academy players a great advantage towards their futures, both on and off the football field.
For players to take full advantage of the courses and training programs offered at Christchurch United, they need a solid pitch to play on. Thanks to a significant investment, the artificial turf at Christchurch United is more than solid: it has been officially ranked by FIFA as being a 2 Star Certified pitch, making it one of the best in the world. Embedded with materials used by some of the best football clubs in the world, our two main pitches can withstand any kind of weather short of the most extreme situations such as major flooding. Our academy players can take advantage of both our artificial and grass pitches during their development, an opportunity that no other football club in the South Island is able to offer.
Christchurch United Football Club has one of the few academies in the country that maintains a coaching staff that consist of career professionals, rather than volunteers. As professionals, our coaching staff can dedicate all their attention towards our academy players and take great pride in establishing strong bonds with their teams.
Committed not only to the development of their players, our coaches are also constantly honing and evolving their craft through our international partners such as TOVO Academy and Double Pass.
Thanks to their combined decades of both domestic and international football experience, Christchurch United’s coaches offer our academy players opportunities that they would not find elsewhere in New Zealand.
Highly specialized and created using the fundamentals of Total Football, Christchurch United’s Academy Program offers young players a footballing experience that leaves them wanting for nothing.
Using some of the best youth development technology acquired from all around the world, playing on pitches that have received top rankings from football’s official governing body, and learning from programs developed by an Academy that teaches perhaps the most innovative form of football the game has ever seen are only some of the qualities offered in Christchurch United’s Academy Program.
Players have constant access to everything they need to help their development, from using Spiideo to analyse their old games, all the way up to training with players from the first team.
