U17s National Tournament Day Three Recap

Academy
Our U17s are currently competing in the U17s National Tournament held at Western Springs.

Day 3 consisted started with our final group game against Hamilton Wanderers U17s, unfortunately Wanderers got the only goal against the run of play just before half time.

Final Result: Christchurch United U17s 0-1 Hamilton Wanders U17s

That result placed our U17s into the Plate quarter finals and an afternoon kick off against Manurewa AFC U17s.

Now its knockout time, so the squad stepped up with discipline and unity right from kickoff. Hugo Debenham weaved in and out and set up a peach of a goal from Jakaya Anink. 1-0 to United, then the rain set in and when I set in I mean bucket down in all directions making football abit harder for both players and spectators.  This didn't phase Hugo Debenham who has been scoring at will this tournament, Mac Prathumphithak made a dangerous run and assisted Hugo to score his 5th goal in 3 days.  The rain kept falling but our U17s dug deep, Manurewa did score one late on but United held on until the last drop!.

Final Result: Christchurch United U17s 2-1 Manurewa AFC U17s

Tomorrow is Semi-final plate time, which should go down as a classic
