It was an entertaining clash at Linfield Park as Christchurch United drew 2-2 with Southern League Champions Coastal Spirit.
Two academy graduates were on the scoresheet for The Rams this morning. Daniel Meyn scored a typical Daniel Meyn goal, slotting it home from above the six-yard box after a lovely pull back from returning first team player Joel Peterson.
The second came from rising young star Osiame Mbhele. After just turning 16 in November, Osi has impressed in first team training during pre-season. After a successful press from fellow academy boy Tinashe Masiyakurima, Osi was played through from the right flank in on goal and coolly placed it into the bottom left corner.
After a number of rotations in the eleven on the field from United, Joe Hoole scored twice for Coastal Spirit to bring the game back to two all.
Christchurch United's next pre-season game will be in the Steve Sumner Shield match vs Cashmere Technical on Friday, 7th March.
