Saturday the 6th of May, saw our Under 20's travel out to the picturesque Barnett Park, Redcliffs, to take on the Ferrymead Bays Keen Lads, in their scheduled New World Championship Mens Football fixture.
The first 5 minutes saw a fast pace game on the pitch, before the first goal was scored by United. Ferrymead Bays provided a competitive, never say die attitude to their fast and skilled game.
Christchurch Under 20's running out the winners on a beautiful afternoon by 6-0.
This was a significant match as is provided more evidence of Christchurch United's football pathways in action. Our current U15s academy player Giacomo Kleffmann not only debuted for the U20s but also scored a sublime goal.
We take football pathways very seriously at Christchurch United and when opportunities arise our players take them.
