This book introduces our Academy Programme and outlines the pathway for Young Player Development.
It has been developed to help young players and their parents make an informed decision about joining the Christchurch United Football Academy.
The Academy is the heart of our Club. Our goal is to develop each Academy player to their full potential and build life-long skills.
Our youngest U4-U8 players are our future. This is why at CUFC we use the FUNiño Fun Football Programme. This programme has been recognised as one of the best methods worldwide for the age group. We are the only club nationwide that offers daily trainings for the U4-U8 players.
In 2022, we will continue to reinforce our U9-U12 programme with technical skill training. This is a critical age for developing the foundations of football mastery.
In 2022, the Academy will introduce the first Girls U6-U10 programme for Christchurch United. As with our boys’ programme, we will be aiming to develop a top tier Girls Football Academy.
2022 will become a significant year for all of us, because this will be the first year when our home-grown Academy players will join the Reserve Team and be candidates for the First Men’s Team. We are very proud that our Academy players have finally grown this far.
