Christchurch United VS Wellington Phoenix Reserves: As It Happened

Christchurch United took on the Wellington Phoenix Reserves on Saturday afternoon at the Christchurch Football Centre. 

Things got off to a shaky start when the Christchurch United Goalkeeper Scott Morris got sent off inside 6 minutes, the Wellington Phoenix Reserves took advantage of the extra man by scoring just 4 minutes later to make it 1-0.

In the 18th minute, the Phoenix doubled their lead when Ben Wallace scored past Eddie Ashton in the Christchurch United goal and things went from bad to worse when Nguyen scored a header to make it 3-0 to the Phoenix Reserves inside 22 minutes. 

But Christchurch United pulled one back through Mika Rabuka's brilliant left-footed strike into the top corner in the 26th minute of the game.

After a fast start with 4 goals in the span of 16 minutes the game settled down and there were no more breakthroughs and the game finished 3-1 to the Wellington Phoenix Reserves after an exciting and action-packed 90 minutes of football.
