With Christmas close we are reviewing the 2020 season at the club

During Term 4 we have done some great things. Most importantly, we have been developing as coaches and players as we did during the rest of the year. With our all-year round programme there are plenty of opportunities for our players and coaches to improve.

For the U17 Team, the term ended up in Auckland at the Western Springs tournament. The boys that went up have been training hard along with the rest of the academy. It was a nice way for our academy to finish the year that started as normal but got interrupted by the worldwide events. COVID-19 kept us off the field for a while. Instead of the field sessions we switched to our online programme where we were able to have a lot of different activities with all our players from all different age groups.

When we came out of lockdown, we trained with restrictions. It all went well which was promising if we went to different levels of alert again. Fortunately for us that did not happen so we could train and play our season as normal. All age categories showed some good football and improvement during the season, something we wish to continue in 2021.

Although I am looking forward to a short break, I am also looking forward to February even more, that will be when we will be back on the field to do what we love most - play football.

I want to wish everyone safe holidays and a happy new year. We will see each other again in 2021.
