Hornsby's Goalscoring streak continues at Avonhead Park! - FC Twenty 11 0-4 Christchurch United

Christchurch United made the small trip to Avonhead Park to face local rivals FC Twenty 11 on Saturday.

The Rams came into the match as heavy favourites as league leaders, whilst FC Twenty 11 sat bottom of the league with a -29 goal difference.

The home side did not make things easy in the first half, but the pressure was applied by the team in blue. Daniel Meyn failed to capitalize on some excellent driven passes across the goal from both Joel Peterson and Joel Stevens. The score was level at the break.

For a while it seemed like the ball was never going to go in for United. David Yoo struck the crossbar twice in a matter of seconds early into the second half. However, it was Yoo's deflected effort that eventually gave us the lead.

It was all United after that. Michael Hornsby placed the ball home twice following his brace vs Dunedin City Royals last time out.

Joel Peterson put the icing on the cake in the final moments as he tucked away his first goal of the campaign.

Christchurch United continue their perfect start to the season with six wins from six in all competitions. The Rams face possibly their toughest test yet this Saturday as Coastal Spirit visit United Sports Centre!
