In other news, the boys under-19s squad clinched their fourth trophy of the season last night with a commanding 1-0 victory over Cashmere Technical to claim the Laser Strike U19 CDL title.
This triumph marked the end to a highly successful season for not only this squad but for all teams and programs throughout the club. Last night, also being an amazing showcase for the remarkable development within our various programs with the squad featuring multiple U15 and U17 players. “Very proud of how these young players have developed this year and to continue to learn and progress in our game model.”
A match with the title “final” and boy it delivered. A thrilling game, with neither team managing to establish a firm grip on the proceedings. A game full of emotion, robust tackles and plenty of cards made it a spectacle for viewers. Christchurch United eventually came out on top with an incredible display of defensive strength after Eric Imachi’s early second half stunner from outside the box being enough for the blue and white to secure victory.
