Player Pathway Academy
We are excited and extremely proud to say two of our current academy players have been named in New Zealands squad for next month's Oceania Football Confederation U-17 Championship which doubles up as U-17 World Cup Qualifying.

Nicholas Murphy and Jackson Cole who have worked right through our Christchurch United Football Academy and have had successful first team debuts this year, have been named in a 23-person squad for the OFC U-17 Championship, set to be played in Fiji from 11 – 28 January 2023.

New Zealand Head Coach Martin Bullock is excited to give this new crop of talent an opportunity at international level:

“We know the last couple of years have been challenging for international football, especially in the age group space, but it is great to be able to start this new cycle and give opportunities to a whole new set of players.

“I’m very pleased with the squad we have assembled. We have a good mix of experience from both the domestic game and from Kiwi talent playing overseas.

“It is now on us to join together as a squad and prove what we can do representing the country.”

New Zealand are in Group B at the tournament along with New Caledonia and American Samoa. The team will play their opening game against New Caledonia on Wednesday 11 January at Fiji FA Academy.
