Season Update Pre-Academy U10s Yellow

Club
We caught up with Christchurch United U10 Yellow Pre-academy Head Coach Andre Richards.

As we close in on the winter months I feel the season so far has offered different challenges and slowly players are starting to see the benefits of continually practicing their ball mastery to build their skills for creating chances and maintaining possession. The group of players (Including parents) are also starting to understand the philosophy behind the practice processes and the objectives for players in the Christchurch United Pre-Academy and how this differs from other clubs. A special mention to Paul Holocher, Paul Ifill, Jude Fitzpatrick and Ali McRae, including uncle Tony and my fellow coaches for making me feel part of the Christchurch United family.

Results so far: (Played 4, won 3, lost 1) * 1 x Friendly

vs Waimakariri - very well drilled team and this was our first meeting with each other, even meeting the parents for first time

vs Papanui Redwood - playing against many younger players, the physical difference was evident

vs Hurunui - two evenly matched teams, result could of been either way

* vs Friendly vs Christchurch United U-9 Blue - Although younger, Lew`s team showed better technical ability, physical difference was noticeable

vs Cashmere Tech - starting to understand more of working as a team and creating space

Looking forward to the season
