U17s National Tournament Day Two Recap

Our U17s are currently competing in the U17s National Tournament held at Western Springs.

Day 2 consisted of big first game against Auckland United U17s. A tough couple of minutes saw our U17s go down 0-2 until Hugo Debenham scoring a penalty to make it 1-2. Auckland United came back and with another one.  Then Jackson Cole stepped up to score 2-3.  The second half end with Auckland United grabbing a few more.


Final Result: Christchurch United U17s 2-5 Auckland United U17s


Second game of the day was a late kick off 6pm vs Fencibles U17s.

Fencibles es  took the lead against the run of play and then grabbed a penalty before half time, Hugo Debenham scored to make it 1-2 but we couldn't get an equaliser


Final Result: Christchurch United U17s 1-2 Fencibles U17s


Co-Captain Nick Murphy summed up the day

"Early goals really hurt the momentum of the boys but never for a moment did we stop fighting, and that’s something to be proud of no matter the score"


One of group fixture tomorrow, then its quarter finals time on Sunday
