How’d you begin your football journey, and why did you choose football?
I started football because my older brother played it, and he had lots of posters in the house, plus we watched a lot of it on TV. It appealed to me because it looked fun, and I ended up playing it at school every day, so I decided to sign up for a club.
How long have you been with Christchurch United?
I’ve been here since the beginning! I was training at Slava’s house when I was still playing for FC Twenty 11, where I trained for one year, and then I moved to Christchurch Football Academy.
What’s your first significant memory with Christchurch United?
The opening of these grounds and the big ceremony we had was very significant for me. Lots of schools had come down, and it was cool to see all the hard work had finally come through.
What’s been the highlight of your time at Christchurch United so far?
Either the opening ceremony here or any of the tournaments we’ve been to. There’s been a few South Island tournaments where we’ve had some great experiences.
You’ve seen a lot of change at Christchurch United during your time here. What’s been the most significant change for you?
I think the culture of the club itself has changed quite a lot, like with the different coaches we’ve had. It’s become super professional now, and our academy is really starting to look like an academy now.
What was your most memorable game with Christchurch United and why?
We went on a trip up to Wellington and we were playing a team called Waterside Karori. I scored a hattrick and we won 4-2!
Finally, what motivates you as a player?
I really enjoy winning games, and football’s my best sport. I love football and I love to win at a high level, so the team aspect and the competition really motivates me.
