And we’re back in business again! After a great holiday, with hopefully many great moments for all our players, parents and staff members, we are as good as ready for another season! The preparations have been ongoing since the last moment of 2020, at least in my head. Are we fully prepared? Most likely we have many areas we need to improve on to become the Academy we vision but every day we work hard to get closer. In the Academy we have been exploring different areas like nutrition, mental training, movement and strength and conditioning connected to regular testing to increase the quality of the program. With a meeting where senior coaching staff combined forces with the academy coaches and the help of Rob Sherman we have been establishing our technical plan for the year.
The Pre-Academy started off with a meeting with the coaches where we discussed the upcoming year. James McClay came in as a head of the Pre-Academy program to make sure the Pre Academy can grow in 2021 into a great pathway towards our Academy. Most of the players have been showing their skills in 2021 already and more players will come in as the term progresses. To make our Pre-Academy program a bigger success it will be important to continue our all year round program consistently.
The first weeks have been really nice, it is good to see all players again and everyone can start their development fresh. We have a lot to work on and it is good to have started. As last year has taught us, things can be very unpredictable but yet we are prepared for most circumstances. I’m looking forward to the upcoming year!
