Christchurch United FC are very pleased to congratulate one of our extremely talented players’, Samantha ‘Sam’ Senior who has been invited to attend the New Zealand Football (NZF) U15 Girls National Talent Centre (NTC) programme in October.
Sam has been part of our development program since 2014 (first with Christchurch Football Academy and now Christchurch United FC) and has shown a lot of commitment towards the beautiful game, which has taken her football to another level.
In 2018 our Football Department will implement its new Playing Style, Philosophy and Curriculum (phase2), so we are looking forward at continuing to develop Sam’s football ‘raising the bar’ in terms of player development and hope that other players will strive to do the same.
The NTC used to operate in three regions, and now the NTC will be at a single location for all players across New Zealand. This reduces significantly the number of players invited, so NZ Football can identify players with high potential to engage in their football education and development programme, seeking a player pool for the U17 and U20 World Cups.
With this reduced pool of players, Sam is one of only 32 girls across New Zealand invited into theU15 age bracket, this is a huge achievement. In addition, Sam has been asked to train with the Canterbury Women’s United Pride wider training camp.
We are very proud to have Sam as part of Christchurch United FC and hope she will inspire all players to work hard towards their own goals.
Congratulations once more Sam for all your achievements thus far and being a strong role model for all players. We look forward to ‘raising the bar’ together.
